HOW WE START A DESIGN

INFORMATION GATHERING
Our first step is information gathering. Who is the client? What do they do? Where are they based? Who is their audience? Is this a new venture? If not, what does their current branding look like? How long has the business been running? How large is the business? Do they have corporate colours? Where did their name come from? Are they expanding to a new area, product, service or clientele?
Once all the information is gathered only then will we start on a design which is unique to each business.

BACK TO BASICS
We always start any design using pencil and paper before going digital. Simply and quickly sketching ideas is the easiest and most creative way to start a design. Many times a design idea can be lost if you start with words on a screen and start playing with typefaces. Once a few options have been selected only then will they be transferred to a computer and refined. We will always use client suggestions BUT will also provide other alternatives.

THE PROCESS

We use all the the latest Adobe software to produce most of our designs. Our designers each have over 20 years experience producing both printed and digital designs and have used many different applications over the years and have found that Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc offer the most cohesive options for producing the best quality work with the greatest variety of export options. Currently we are using WordPress to produce our websites as we do not have to “reinvent the wheel” for every client, the application allows amazing diversity in “plug and play” functionality allowing us to concentrate on the more personal aspects of making the sites unique to each client. This site is created using WordPress.

HOW DO WE PRESENT A DESIGN

OVERALL
An overall colour and typeface palette will be created for your logo or brand. This will enable you to use complimentary branding across your entire business – from business cards to vehicles to your website.

OPTIONS
We will normally present one final design which will have gone through our full design process. We will create a greyscale version of our designs along with a full colour model.
For example – many times a logo will be shown in only black and white – so it has to look just as good without colour as it does in its full glory.

100%
We will provide unlimited revisions of the final design until you are 100% satisfied.
For example – once a logo design has your 100% approval we will send you a digital packet containing versions of your logo in greyscale and full colour in a variety of sizes and formats ready for you to use. This is the case for any of our designs including websites.
